Lecture Review | A Complete Guide to UK & Australia Study Abroad Planning

Times:2025-10-17

On the afternoon of September 24, 2025, the first session of the "Undergraduate Academic & Competence Enhancement Planning" special lecture—co-hosted by Daxia College of ECNU and Golden Education—concluded successfully. With the theme of "A Complete Guide to Study Abroad in the UK and Australia", this lecture invited Wu Jiadi, a senior study-abroad planner from Golden Education who specializes in the international education sector, to deliver a wonderful sharing session on exploring study-abroad pathways for students.

Wu started by introducing the specific university distributions in the UK and Australia, and discussed key factors including university location, a comprehensive overview of economic costs, and a comparative analysis from the time-space dimension. He specifically analyzed the differences in requirements—such as undergraduate institution background and GPA details—imposed by UK universities (especially the G5 group) and top Australian universities on Chinese students. He also emphasized the distinctions in IELTS and TOEFL recognition standards across different countries. This helped students bridge information gaps, understand application difficulties, and clarify key focus areas for preparation.

During the lecture, Wu specifically pointed out that students should pay attention to the failure rates of different universities and the resulting increase in economic costs. He broke down economic costs into three parts, including details such as tuition composition, differences in living costs, and scholarship coverage rates.

Finally, Wu reminded students to pay attention to the visa duration for international graduates and discussed key factors for industry access. The students present listened attentively and clarified their own development directions and study-abroad plans through the detailed guidance provided.
