Daxia College is named after Daxia University, one of the predecessors of East China Normal University. Inspired by the traditions of “unceasing self-improvement” and “teacher-student collaboration”, the College is dedicated to guiding first-year undergraduates through their crucial stage of transition. With a focus on the principle“to excel is to stand firm,” Daxia College initiates an “Once Cultivation” program to help students adapt academically, socially, and personally, while building transferable skills and qualities that enhance professional growth. Our mission is to nurture students into responsible, capable, and well-rounded individuals, laying a strong foundation for future excellence and holistic development.

Affiliated with ten faculties or departments on the Putuo Campus—including Faculty of Education, School of International Chinese Studies, School of Psychology and Cognitive Science, Faculty of Economics and Management, School of Public Management, School of Statistics, School of Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering Institute, School of Data Science and Engineering, and School of Design—Daxia College provides first-year students with comprehensive educational and developmental support.
