From June 10 to 14, teachers and students from Shiu Pong College of the University of Macau visited Daxia College. They joined hands with teachers and students of Daxia College to participate in a series of wonderful activities, including the "Daxia College Day" experience, on-site urban research, visits to the on-campus museum, the lecture "Digital Intelligence Reconstructs Communication Power", and summary comments. This activity continues the tradition of close exchanges between Daxia College and teachers and students of higher education institutions in Macau.
PART. 1 First Visit to Shanghai: Creating a New Chapter of College Development
On the morning of June 11, the "Embracing All Rivers · Riding the Tide in Shanghai" immersive experience course on economic and social development and national conditions education was officially launched at the Student Activity Center. The teacher-student delegation from Shiu Pong College of the University of Macau, together with representatives of teachers and students including Wang Subin, Director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of ECNU, Pang Weiguo, Dean of Daxia College, and Wang Liyv, Vice Dean of Daxia College, embarked on this in-depth study tour in Shanghai.
PART. 2 Bond with ECNU: Integrating into College Culture Experience
To break the ice between teachers and students from different universities, on the afternoon of June 11, Daxia College took the opportunity of the "Daxia College Day" activity and designed a variety of experience programs and the "Commending Excellence - Independent Learning and Active Service" activity. The experience programs include campus tour, welcome ceremony, "Dragon Travels the World - Intangible Cultural Heritage Palm Weaving Shows Splendor", "Ancient Charm of Sachets - Repelling Mosquitoes and Preventing Epidemics for Health", "Incense Therapy - Ecological Art Nourishes the Soul", "Sci-Fi Journey - Jointly Depicting a New Blueprint for the World", and "Han-style Elegant Gathering - Appreciating Calligraphy and Painting to Pass on Classics". Through a combination of lectures and practical experiences, teachers and students from the University of Macau deeply felt the characteristics of the college courses. Through the short but warm commendation activity of the college, students from the two universities got to know each other and deepened their understanding.
PART. 3 Explore Shanghai’s Root: Tracing the Roots of Shanghai-Style Culture
On June 12, teachers and students from the two universities conducted a cultural visit.In the morning, they visited the Cai Yuanpei Former Residence Memorial Hall and Huashan 263 Time-Honored Brand Hall. Through the life documents, manuscripts, photos and other physical objects in the Hall, they experienced the ideological journey of this educational pioneer from a member of the Hanlin Academy to a founder of modern education. Then, they moved to Huashan 263 Time-Honored Brand Hall, where they decoded the historical genes of Shanghai's commercial civilization in the century-old building.In the afternoon, they explored the East Building of the Shanghai Museum. Teachers and students from the University of Macau showed great interest in the special exhibition halls of Shanghai-style and Jiangnan culture. They felt the contemporary vitality of Chinese culture in the dialogue between cultural relics and technology.
PART. 4 Wander alongside the Liwa River: Seeking the Inheritance of ECNU's Cultural Context
On June 13, under the guidance of Huang Yi, the Teaching Mentor of Daxia College, teachers and students from the University of Macau explored the on-campus museum cluster. They built a bridge for academic and cultural co-construction through personal experience and practical communication.At the on-campus Museum of Ancient Coins and Historical Relics, they appreciated collections such as bronze wares of the Shang and Zhou dynasties and currencies of the Tang and Song dynasties, listened to professional explanations, and traced the historical origins behind the cultural relics.At the Centennial Archives and Documents Exhibition of Guanghua University, through archives, photos and physical objects, they looked back on the century-long journey of Guanghua University since its establishment in 1925, and felt the continuity of the original aspiration of education in the tide of the times.
Finally, they visited the Psychological Thematic Exhibition "Breaking the 'Harsh' Moments", participated in interactive games in the MengXiancheng&Liu Fonian Hall, learned the application of psychology in self-care in an immersive way, and brought the on-campus visit to a close with a relaxed and pleasant experience.
PART. 5 Strive for the Shared Future: Reviewing the Long-lasting Friendship during the Study Tour
In the process of jointly studying Shanghai-style culture, exploring economic development, and savoring the elegant charm of seal cutting and incense culture, students from the University of Macau experienced the diverse charm of Chinese culture in an immersive way and further deepened their sense of identity with Chinese culture. At the end of the activity, teachers and students from the University of Macau reviewed the bits and pieces of the five-day study tour - from the craftsmanship of intangible cultural heritage palm weaving at their fingertips to the historical echoes of cultural relics in the museum, from the in-depth experience of campus culture to the collision and integration of cross-regional ideas. They all shared their sincere feelings about cross-cultural exchanges, and outlined a vivid picture of cultural mutual learning between young people from Shanghai and Macau through dialogue and resonance.
