Testimonials from Past Participants
Yuan, Freshman, School of Economics and Management
"Stepping into the iconic UN conference hall and drafting/revising resolutions in accordance with real UN agendas was an invaluable experience. It was the most direct, effective, and memorable way to understand the UN’s mission, structure, and operational mechanisms. I’m thrilled to have participated in this program as a freshman. The WIMUN experience is woven with countless 'first times' — it will be a precious memory that motivates me to embrace more new challenges in the future."
Li Yunfei, First-Year Graduate Student, School of Foreign Languages
"It was my first time crossing the Pacific Ocean; my first time being assigned to represent Australia, which led me to spend a month researching Australia’s humanitarian issues; my first time being encouraged to serve as the Head Delegate of the Asia-Pacific regional group, speaking on behalf of 10 countries; my first time bravely writing my name on the registration list; and my first time debating with so many international participants while chatting about gossip and the future off-stage. We are so different yet so similar. The world doesn’t need complicated divisions — small as we are, each of us can contribute to protecting the planet!"
Yang, Sophomore, School of Computer Science and Technology
"From being cautious and unfamiliar at first to becoming close friends later, WIMUN brought me more than just language improvement — it enhanced my ability to communicate with others. I gradually broke down my inherent barriers and integrated into the global community. Even though not everyone spoke perfect English, everyone dared to express themselves. In such an environment, I gradually built up my confidence. I’m grateful to the foreign friends who helped me — they were all so nice. I look forward to meeting them again in a foreign land; we definitely will! Some emotions are beyond words, and this will be an important chapter in my life. This is how the world should be!"
